Map sources and calculation method

Prepared 2 November 2026. This is a geographic point map, with north at the top in both panels. It shows selected site positions, not cable routes or verified individual supply connections. The two panels have separately marked scales.

The starting point is the published map pin on the Millstream Lane side of the Green, linked from the park listing. The council confirms the Green's name and address. The pin is an approximate reference, not a surveyed centroid or boundary point.

Distances use the haversine formula with an Earth radius of 6,371km, rounded to the nearest 10m. Building-point distances from that reference are approximately 940m to LON4 and 1,040m to LON5. Different starting points on the Green give different results. These are not walking distances.

The drawing uses a local equirectangular projection with longitude scaled by cosine(latitude). The local panel uses approximately 200 pixels per kilometre; the regional panel uses 23 pixels per kilometre.

Operator addresses were cross-checked against their facility information. Site coordinates are approximate mapped positions, not surveyed boundaries. Project status and the relationship between the two substation sites were checked against National Grid's project information.
